Just weathering the storm…
I know I am in a similar boat along with many other small businesses…just weathering the storm. I feel pretty good about staying alive in this state of economy. Profit margins are slim to none, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep my company going. I believe in it that strongly! It is my passion and I love what I do. It has been 9 years this summer and this by far has been the worst year of my business. With all this said, I will continue to offer deep discounts so that we all weather this storm together.

Shipping costs…are they too high?
I would really like some feedback from you all on my shipping charges. I have recently had to update the charges to reflect an update from UPS which obviously raised shipping prices. The other change was to free shipping. Unfortunately I have had to raise the minimum order to receive free shipping to $85. I am trying desperately to stay competitive. I am however a ‘one woman show’ and have a hard time competing with the sephora’s of the net. I still offer very deep discounts almost on a weekly basis at this point in order to spur on sales. I know when I am shopping I am looking for the ‘best’ offers I can find.
These times right now I believe are probably the hardest that my generation has had to experience. I’m forty something and I know I’ve never seen anything this bad except for probably the gas crisis back in the 70’s. Anyway…I hope that all of you are riding the storm out also and if you need to vent, feel free!

I am very excited about these bags. In my business I recycle everything I can including boxes, paper, packing supplies. I print packing slips out on the blank side of used paper. I am going to be taking these RuMe bags to the grocery from now on. We recycle at our house and I've changed most bulbs to the new flourescent type. I feel like I am doing the best I can.
